Geoffrey Palenik is a visual artist living in San Marino California, who makes expressive abstract paintings and sculptures. He studied Art at Memphis College of Art and the AICAD New York Studio Program. Palenik speaks plainly to his audience with a simple vocabulary of color, texture and geometric shapes creating work that balances between the familiar and the unexpected. Although the work is non-representational, there is a suggestion of the figure or a group of figures arranged in relationship to each other. He recently showed with other emerging artists in a group exhibit “Local Masterworks of of American Art” curated by Andre Butzer at the Nino Mier Gallery in West Hollywood CA.
